Update on GP referrals into the Weight Management and Complex Obesity Service (WMCOS)
The development of the technology required to enable GP referrals into WMCOS is now almost complete. The ICB is moving into a testing phase to ensure it is working effectively before the service opens fully.
The length of the test phase will depend on how long it takes to solve any problems identified.
This is a significant step forward in the process and we will update this page when the service opens fully in early 2026.
In the meantime, we are not able to give you any more information about when the full service will open. Please monitor this NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB page for updates.
